Colostrum

Colostrum is the first form of milk produced by mammals immediately following childbirth. Commonly called “liquid gold,” it contains antibodies, growth factors, and nutrients specifically designed to support the development of a newborn’s gut microbiome and immune system. Colostrum contains immunoglobulins (like IgG and IgA) that promote overall bodily and immune system health, as well as proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals to nourish the body. We use bovine colostrum in our Colostrum supplement because it’s similar in composition to human colostrum, but contains a higher concentration of immunoglobulin IgG and can provide benefits for gut health, healthy immune system support, and overall wellness.

Lactoferrin

Lactoferrin is a protein already found in milk and other bodily fluids, like saliva and tears. It plays a key role in supporting a healthy immune system by binding to iron, which helps to promote microbial balance (the balance of “good” bacteria vs. the “bad” bacteria). This gives lactoferrin inherent microbial-balancing properties, helping your body remain resilient. It’s also an antioxidant and supports gut health by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria in the digestive system, which is why we’ve added an additional source of clinically-studied lactoferrin.

Immunoglobulins

Immunoglobulins – also known as antibodies – are proteins produced by the immune system to help identify and neutralize foreign invaders. They are essential for a healthy immune response, as they are highly vigilant to promote a healthy immune system and overall health.

Colostrum contains two primary types of immunoglobulins: IgG, which is the most abundant type and plays an important role in immune system support; and IgA, which is found in mucosal areas like the gut and respiratory tract and in secretions, such as saliva and breast milk, and helps promote healthy mucosal surfaces.

Bacillus coagulans

Bacillus coagulans is one of the most clinically-studied probiotics strains on the planet. It is a soil-based organism (SBO) probiotic, which means it can survive extreme conditions – like the heat of the digestive system. It helps maintain a balanced gut microbiome, promotes digestion, reduces occasional bloating and gas, and supports healthy immune system function. We include Bacillus coagulansin our formulas because it’s uniquely resilient, which allows it to remain effective even in harsh environments, and it helps promote nutrient absorption and bioavailability of the formula it’s in.
